Signs that your old windows need to be replaced:

Difficulty with opening or closing…
Windows rattle in the wind…
Paint chipping or peeling…
Air leaking through or around the windows, causing drafts…
Your home is too cold in winter or too hot in summer…
Excessive condensation or icing on the inside of windows…

Sealed Units & Replacement Sealed Units

A double glazed window consists of two panes of glass, which are sealed between a gap and separated with a spacer bar, these are commonly known as a sealed unit. The perimeter of the unit is sealed, allowing no movement of outside air into the space. The space is filled with an Argon Gas which contributes to the overall insulating efficiency of the glass and total cost.

If your sealed unit is misted, cloudy or forming condensation, this indicated that your unit has “broken down” and has lost it’s integrity. Typically the moisture is drawn in as the atmospheric pressure changes and will build up, eventually condensing into water inside the unit.

Replacing a misted sealed unit can have many advantages:

*Getting a clear view out of your window
*Improving energy efficiency and insulation of your home
*Maintaining the value of your property
*Improving the appearance of your home

It is important to remember that when your unit has “broken down”, only the sealed unit needs replacement, not your entire window and all sealed units carry a manufacture’s warranty.
